Sightseeing
The Owner's Club comes as a perk of your stay with us and is a wonderful resource all year long! There is a beautiful pool with outdoor dining picnic area (pools include large pool with a slide, kiddie pool with a small slide), and for colder months, we provide access to the indoor pool. Open all year long is the fitness center, billiards room, and indoor basketball court. The Owner's Club is fun for all ages, rain or shine, and even comes equipped with a baby toddler area for indoor playing.

Chestnut Mountain holds fun for the whole family year round. In winter months, you can take advantage of their ski and snowboarding slopes. In the warmer months, you can enjoy their zipline, alpine slide, river cruise, and more.

Thunderbay Falls is minutes from our home within the Territories. We have a map in our binder on the kitchen counter that can show you directions. We love to visit the small waterfall for a few moments each trip.

If you enjoy history, this home tour is worthwhile. All of the furnishing are original and the tours guides are great. The tours can be self-guided, so you can spend as little or as much time as you'd like.

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque, Iowa is worth the trip if you find yourself stuck indoors due to extreme cold, rain, etc... It's a 40 minute drive away, but is fun for families and adults. It's positioned on a nice river walk area and right next door to a large casino.

Our family loves Gobbies, especially for outdoor dining or a date night on the patio. Each guests receives their complimentary special salad and a basket of beer bread nuggets. Everything we've tried has been great and we never leave hungry.

The Galena Brewing Company offers good food, a relaxed environment and a great scene for live music. If you are a beer fan, try their beer flight. It's a great way to sample their local brews. Even our kids enjoy a meal at the Galena Brewing Co.

The Log Cabin offers a "supper club" feel with great food and excellent service. Their steaks are wonderful and their staff is attentive. The restaurant is tight, so it can get crowded. If you prefer a quieter experience I'd recommend going early as they open at 4pm.

Fried Green Tomatoes is a local and tourist favorite. Their hours are somewhat limited: Tuesday - Sunday opens at 4:00pm for dinner only, Saturday opens for lunch 12 - 3:00 and dinner begins at 3:00.
