The North end of Carolina Beach is quieter than the main areas of town. It has the Carolina Beach Fishing Pier, under new ownership, which has a grill, the High Tide Lounge, and the Low Tide Tiki Bar-in season. For a fee, 4-wheel drive vehicles can drive on to Freedom Park. You won't find hotels at this end of the beach. A lot of the houses have permanent residents.
