Renting a car vs. Uber/Lyft
If your destinations are within 10-15 minutes of downtown. Parking will usually be an issue, meaning either there is limited free parking, or it will cost you to park. So by the time you rent a car and navigate to your destination it will cost more time and money than not.
If you are visiting Houston and know you want to go Galveston, Space Center , Woodlands, or Sugarland then you should rent a car.
