Known as the Mater Dei Parish, the church was built on the highest point of the penisula overlooking Newport. St. Mary Star of the Sea (Catholic) Church has a commanding view of Lake Memphremagog. When open, a visit inside will surprise you with some classic art work.

Our area's historical museum. It is actually located in Brownington and that is a bit of maze. However, there is a great lookout tower, in a field, up the road from the Old Stone House.

I'll tell you that the Haskell Library is probably the only library in the USA that has no books! That is because the stacks are on the Canadian side of the building. No passport needed inside. Upstairs features a century old Opera House still in use today, hosting various performances. The stage and some of the audience are in Canada.
