Sightseeing

There is a large car park, cafe and toilets here and a land train that will take you straight down to the beach for a small cost. However, the walk over the Head or around the Head on the beach side may take longer but it is beautiful with stunning views back to Bournemouth and along the coast line to Barton on sea. Not to mention the Isle of Wight. It is simply the best!

You can park in the car park or for free in the road above where there are steps down to the sea. I like to turn right at the bottom and run along the seafront to Sandbanks where you’ll find the Jazz cafe who do wonderful breakfasts and food in general. Live Jazz is played on the weekend. However, if running is not your thing then the acres of pure white sandy beaches are there for the taking with plenty of amenities to enjoy.

The beaches here are gorgeous and you can walk to the quay and buy freshly caught fish or hire crabbing tackle to catch your own crabs over the sea wall! There are plenty of places to eat, my favourite being The Noisy Lobster which is on the beach front with views of the Isle of Wight. You can walk from here to Highcliffe where you can have teas in Highcliffe castle, set in lovely gardens and who host a variety of entertainment in the evenings.

Although Burley is a small village tucked away in the New Forest, it boasts a cider festival in the autumn, has award winning ice creams and an amazing fudge shop to name just a few! You can hire bicycles from here and enjoy wonderful off road trips through the forest to some great pubs or if cycling is not your thing, take an open air bus tour through the forest to places such as Beaulieu and Lymington. The village hall often have local craft fairs and art exhibitions too! AND Burley is only five minutes drive from us!

Set in 50 acres of beautiful New Forest countryside and lakes, there’s something for everyone at the New Forest Water Park – whether you’re on holiday or just fancy a great day out. The New Forest Water Park has been a friendly, family-run business for more than 25 years and has become the New Forest’s favourite venue to learn and enjoy a host of WaterSports – including WakeBoarding, Kayaking and Stand-up Paddle Boarding. Not to mention the massive inflatable assault course! You can also book an instructor to really perfect your skills on the water.

There is so much that Bournemouth has to offer. The Russel Coates museum is just fabulous but if that’s not your thing then there is a climbing wall on the pier, an aquarium and a great, newly built cinema. The Bournemouth International Centre and The Pavillion hold concerts for every age range and an indoor ice rink!

This dry ski slope is suitable for beginners who can have lessons or competent skiers or snowboarders. However, for the younger ones there are ringos to slide down the slopes on as well as an adventure park.
