The Cave of Antiparos is among the most beautifuland most significant in the world; this because, in addition to being an enchanting natural site worth seeing, it is inextricably linked to the history of the area and generates great archaeological interest, owing to the findings from the Stone Age discovered in its interior. The engraved inscriptions that ‘adorn’ it are also an inexhaustible source of stories, legends and information concerning famous—and more anonymous—visitors, like a kind of guest book, whose first page was written hundreds of year before the birth of Christ.
Stalactites and stalagmites, which change form according to the inspiration and imagination of the individual visitor, adorn the ‘Katafygi’ [shelter], as locals used to call the Cave. It is located some 171 metres above sea level, is precipitous, and its interior temperature in wintertime is at about 15 degrees Celsius. It has an area of approximately 5,600 square metres. Its maximum depth reaches some 85 metres and the descent takes place easily and securely, by way of a cement staircase made up of 411 steps. The exceptional visibility makes possible the observation of details created by ‘Nature, the artist’, and also permits the search for human presence from the times of the Parian poet Archilochus (c. 680 - c. 645 BC) up to the 20th century. The Cave is open for visits from April through October, its opening hours from 10:00-15:00 In winter months visits may be made upon arrangement with the Municipality of Antiparos.
The admission ticket costs 5.00 euros. There is a 50% discount for children and those over 65 (2.50 euros).

Η Παναγία Εκαντοταπυλιανή είναι το μεγαλύτερο και καλύτερα διατηρημένο παλαιοχριστιανικό μνημείο στην Ελλάδα. Χτίστηκε τον 4ο αιώνα και αναστηλώθηκε τον 6ο αιώνα. Βρίσκεται στην Παροικιά, μόλις 200 μέτρα από το λιμάνι. Γιορτάζει στις 15 Αυγούστου και ο εορτασμός κορυφώνεται με παραστάσεις παραδοσιακών χορών και επίδειξη πυροτεχνημάτων.

EkatontapiliahsΗ Παναγία Εκαντοταπυλιανή είναι το μεγαλύτερο και καλύτερα διατηρημένο παλαιοχριστιανικό μνημείο στην Ελλάδα. Χτίστηκε τον 4ο αιώνα και αναστηλώθηκε τον 6ο αιώνα. Βρίσκεται στην Παροικιά, μόλις 200 μέτρα από το λιμάνι. Γιορτάζει στις 15 Αυγούστου και ο εορτασμός κορυφώνεται με παραστάσεις παραδοσιακών χορών και επίδειξη πυροτεχνημάτων.
Μια όαση ίσκιου και δροσιάς πολύ κοντά στο σπίτι, στο δρόμο για την Παροικιά. Οι επισκέπτες μπορούν να δουν τις πεταλούδες αλλά και να δροσιστούν στον ίσκιο των μαγάλων δένδρων πίνοντας ένα αναψυκτικό.

Butterflies Valley
Μια όαση ίσκιου και δροσιάς πολύ κοντά στο σπίτι, στο δρόμο για την Παροικιά. Οι επισκέπτες μπορούν να δουν τις πεταλούδες αλλά και να δροσιστούν στον ίσκιο των μαγάλων δένδρων πίνοντας ένα αναψυκτικό.
Το πανέμορφο νησί της Αντιπάρου είναι διεθνώς γνωστό για τις φυσικές του ομορφιές. Χτισμένο τον 13ο αιώνα (1260) από τους Ενετούς (Μάρκο Σανούδο), όταν το νησί άνηκε στο Δουκάτο της Νάξου. Στο κάστρο είναι ενσωματώμένες αρχαίες κολώνες, μάρμαρα αλλά και τέσσερα εκκλησάκια. Αξίζει ένας περίπατος στην παλιά πόλη της Παροικιάς με τα στενά δρομάκια και τα μικρά σπίτια, κατάλοιπα του μεσαιωνικού οικισμού που αναπτύχθηκε έξω από το κάστρο.

Frankish kastali
Χτισμένο τον 13ο αιώνα (1260) από τους Ενετούς (Μάρκο Σανούδο), όταν το νησί άνηκε στο Δουκάτο της Νάξου. Στο κάστρο είναι ενσωματώμένες αρχαίες κολώνες, μάρμαρα αλλά και τέσσερα εκκλησάκια. Αξίζει ένας περίπατος στην παλιά πόλη της Παροικιάς με τα στενά δρομάκια και τα μικρά σπίτια, κατάλοιπα του μεσαιωνικού οικισμού που αναπτύχθηκε έξω από το κάστρο.

Η παραλία Πίσω Αλυκή βρίσκεται σε απόσταση 300 μέτρων περίπου από το σπίτι. 'Εχει ψιλή άμμο και αρκετά θαλασσόδεντρα για όσους προτιμούν τον ίσκιο. Το νερό είναι καθαρό και δροσερό. Είναι ιδιαίτερα ασφαλής για παιδιά, καθώς βαθαίνει σταδιακά.
Παραλία Πίσω Αλυκή
Η παραλία Πίσω Αλυκή βρίσκεται σε απόσταση 300 μέτρων περίπου από το σπίτι. 'Εχει ψιλή άμμο και αρκετά θαλασσόδεντρα για όσους προτιμούν τον ίσκιο. Το νερό είναι καθαρό και δροσερό. Είναι ιδιαίτερα ασφαλής για παιδιά, καθώς βαθαίνει σταδιακά.
Η παραλία Άγιος Νικόλαος βρίσκεται σε απόσταση περίπου 700 μέτρων από το Σπίτι της Μαρουσώς. Είναι αμμώδης παραλία, με δέντρα για ίσκιο και ιδανική για οικογένειες με παιδιά, καθώς βαθαίνει σταδιακά.

Η παραλία Άγιος Νικόλαος βρίσκεται σε απόσταση περίπου 700 μέτρων από το Σπίτι της Μαρουσώς. Είναι αμμώδης παραλία, με δέντρα για ίσκιο και ιδανική για οικογένειες με παιδιά, καθώς βαθαίνει σταδιακά.
Αυτή η υπέροχη αμμώδης παραλία βρίσκεται πίσω από το ύψωμα που βλέπουμε απέναντι από το σπίτι. Σε απόσταση περίπου 1 χλμ με τα πόδια. Αξίζει τον κόπο να περπατήσει κανείς σε αυτή την περιοχή και να ανακαλύψει τις πολλές μικρές παραλίες και κολπίσκους όπου μπορεί να βρει απόλυτη ιδιωτικότητα!

Makria Miti
Αυτή η υπέροχη αμμώδης παραλία βρίσκεται πίσω από το ύψωμα που βλέπουμε απέναντι από το σπίτι. Σε απόσταση περίπου 1 χλμ με τα πόδια. Αξίζει τον κόπο να περπατήσει κανείς σε αυτή την περιοχή και να ανακαλύψει τις πολλές μικρές παραλίες και κολπίσκους όπου μπορεί να βρει απόλυτη ιδιωτικότητα!

Η παραλία Φάραγγας βρίσκεται σε απόσταση περίπου 3 χιλιομέτρων από την Αλυκή. Ο κεντρικός δρόμος περνάει πάνω από την παραλία και υπάρχει αρκετός χώρος για στάθμευση οχημάτων. Φημίζεται για τα γαλαζοπράσινα καθαρά νερά του. Στον κετρικό κόλπο βρίσκεται beach bar και ενοικιάζονται ξαπλώστρες. Μπορεί κανείς να περπατήσει μέχρι τους διπλανούς μικρότερους κόλπους (όπως κοιτάζουμε τη θάλασσα, δεξιά) όπου συνήθως βρίσκεται λιγότερος κόσμος.

Quiet, sandy beach, not organised, so you should take your drinks & beach equipment along. Actually, there are two beaches: the one on the left (which is also more difficult to approach) preferred by nudists while the one on the right by families.

Lefkes is the most picturesque mountainous village of Paros. It was the first capital of the island in the middle ages, situated in the cdentral part of Paros, 11 klm southeast of Paroikia. The houses are built amphitheatrically and the first residents were people (locals and immigrants from the island of Crete) who chose to built their houses on the mountain to be protected from pirates. Visitors walk along the central street of the village, where they can see neoclassic and traditional whitewashed houses, stores, cafes, tavernas... On the hills around the village there are windmills, many of which have been restored. The biggest church is Aghia Triada, a beautiful Byzantine church, with its impressive belfries. Also, rare and valuable Byzantine icons are housed in this church. All transportation in the village is on foot and there are two parking lots at the entrance of the village, where you can leave your vehicles. There is also bus from Paroikia that takes you to Lefkes. From this marvellous village, the Byzantine Road, a paved footpath dating from the Byzantine period, leads to the village of Prodromos and ends up to the sea.

Piso Livadi is a nice, quiet village and fishing port / marina on the south-east of Paros, approximately 17 klm from Parikia. There are mainly restaurants and cafes located on the waterfront. There is also a sandy, shallow beach with a children's playground, making it ideal for families with children.

Religious festival & celebrations on 15 August, at Paroikia
There is a large festival with spectacular firework displays, local dances and much more, every year on 15 August at Paroikia, to celebrate the Dormition of the Virgin or Assumption of Mary. The church of Ekatontapiliani also celebrates, being dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. The entire island and hordes of tourists visit Parikia. Navy ships also pay their respects to the religious ceremony. A spectacle not to be missed, unless you are not into crowded places!

Festival of Sotiros at Aliki: 6 August
The festival of Sotiros takes place every year on 6 August at Aliki: a stage where musicians sing traditional songs and local dance groups perform is put up usually on the quay right in front of Marousso's Seafront House, so our guests have VIP view! Both locals and visitors join the dances. Fried small fish and local wine is distributed free of charge.

The Barbarosa Pirate Festival in Naousa: 23 August
Nine days after the Assumption of Virgin, this is a revival of a Corsair attack night to celebrate the victory of the locals over the Turkish pirate Barbarossa held in the port town of Naoussa, in the south of the island. The representation of the pirates' raids is permormed by young locals. There is also a firework display, traditional music, dancing and of course drinking and eating until the early morning hours!

Fresh water municipal selling point
Although the tap water at Aliki is potable, most visitors prefer to buy bottles of mineral water. This can increase one's budget, but it is also not a sustainable solution. There is a coin water machine approximately 1 klm away from Marousso's Seafront House, on the way to Aggeria village., where you can buy fresh water at a very low price. Just make sure you have your own container.
