Aloha and Welcome

Locals can be nice people. But we never underestimate anyone. Always be cautious. Say Hi, but don't be too friendly. Everyone including locals are struggling to get by in this expensive state of Hawaii. We can all appear to be nice. But when your not looking, someone might go into your bag. Always be on guard, and never underestimate. Travel lightly, and be smart when traveling. If you see other visitors around, then it's probably safe. Don't be by yourself. Don't walk alone, and stay safe. Most of all, enjoy what our beautiful paradise has to offer.
Hvað á að taka með

Travel Light

Slippers, shorts, tank-tops, shirts, hats, sun-glasses are always the essentials. Less is better. No need to carry heavy jeans, or sweater. I'm sure you'll go shopping here for that aloha wear, so even less so you have to pack a full suitcase. Come here with an empty suit-case, and then go home with a full-suit case, that's usually the case with me when I travel. I pick up things as needed. There are ABC's shoppettes at almost every corner. If your hiking, then of course, bring your hiking shoes. Enjoy.

Kid's are a Handful

If your traveling with kids, always think safety. Safety from the ocean, swimming, drowning. Sadly to say, with visitors arriving once again, now, we hear stories of drownings, hikers falling off cliffs, and then the occasional helicopter crashes. In the past, we've had skydiving accidents. And the list can go on. But the most common, would be sun-burns, victims of thefts, fighting with locals. Sun-burns can be prevented by hiding under the shade. Staying out of the sun during the most hottest times 11 am-4pm. Find other things to do, perhaps on the road driving to your next destination.

The Locals

The locals are usually busy working. So while visitors are having fun, traveling, locals are working, going to school, paying bills, and caring for their families. That's what we do. So if you see locals hanging around, then maybe their retired? Really, locals, and visitors don't mix, however, if you really want to hang out with good locals, you can always call us up, and we'll be down to chill, have a beer, bbq on the beach, go to a restaurant, share stories. I recommend us, because we are in the hospitality industry, we're locals, and we enjoy what we do.

Driving in Traffic

We were always the type to drive in the opposite direction of traffic. How do we do that? Well, while most people are going to work during morning rush hours, or afternoon returning home, we were working in the hospitality industry. So I can imagine, if your driving, try to avoid the morning rush hours. Downtown Oahu, is where people are driving too. Afternoon, people are driving away from downtown to the 4 corners of the island, North, South, East, and West.
