Traveling to Nantucket
Getting from Boston or NY to Nantucket can be unnecessarily expensive by plane. We often go from Logan to Hyannis on the bus, and then take the slow ferry to the island. Its a long day, but not fraught with starvation or steep roads.
Terminal C has a bus stop just past baggage claim, door C110. All bus lines leave from there whether its Peter Pan or Plymouth Brockton. The South Station shuttle stops there as well. I suspect that there are similar bus stops in other terminals but double check.

As you walk out of the bus station, on the left across the road you will see the bright and pretty sign for Persy' Place. Its a great breakfast place that makes delish home fries.

Youngs Bicycle, and Nantucket Bike have always been there and we have used both over the decades. The bike is the best way to get around if you are able. It can get you into town faster than a car, and there are plenty of beaches in a flat 2-4 miles to choose from. You have even more choices if you like to bike. I would highly recommend the Burley cargo trailer for big grocery runs, and to carry beach gear. Snag a kid carrier if there aren't any available. There are panniers at the house you may use if you travel minimally.

This is Main St. You made it. Follow your directions to the house or strike out on your own. If you are an early riser, Town is beautiful in the early morning. Remember at some point in your visit to get off Main St. and follow your way down all the pretty alleys and hidden cobblestone streets.
