Arguably the most famous hot dog & sausage place in the US. They only work until 4pm. Go after 2:30 pm & its a lost cause. Fois Gras dog will make it worth your 45 min wait - and the duck fat fries.

Food network featured bbq place. You can't go wrong with anything here. Pulled pork, non-mayo base slaw, and baked mac'n'cheese highly recommended.

I'm not a vegan. I'm not a raw foodist. But the deserts here were actually good enough to make me try it for ~2 weeks (couldn't take it after that). Seriously though, avocado based cheesecakes = win.

Possibly Chicago's most legendary burger joint. The flavors are something special, portions huge, and so is the food coma that follows. If you're into burgers, definitely check out Kuma's.

I love fish tacos. I've eaten them all over LA, Chicago, wherever. But, imo, Azteca has the best fish tacos I've ever tried. Across the street from the legendary Smart Bar. Open 'til 5am.

Kind of a kitschy crepe place, but they have the chewiest crepes I know of. Good place if you have kids. Also have a toasty fireplace if you're visiting in the winter.
