This place is a classic, old-school Italian steakhouse. You might find fancier steakhouses in Omaha but you won't find a better steak than at Omaha's treasure, Cascio's Steak House. VERY AFFORDABLE.

Any Sushi bar than can out-shine restaurants down the coast of California is impressive in my opinion. I think I can honestly add this to my top 10 most notable sushi experiences. The employees were friendly and quick, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was exactly what I'd expect from a trendy sushi bar.

One of the best choices for seafood in Omaha. Great, fresh oysters--and a variety of them, for that matter. And the presentation couldn't be better. Oysters come on a bed of ice, alongside cocktail sauce and a couple other options. It's worth coming here for Happy Hour! Oysters are $1.25 and other foods are cheaper too. Plus, fun $3 oyster shots. The food!- Wow, this is the best seafood I've had in a while.

A nice and spacious Old Market coffee spot that champions locally-roasted beans. I'm sold. I've had many-a meetings at Aromas and plan on having many-a-more here in the future.

Drinks & Nightlife

Omaha's English pub. There's a lot to love about Mister Toad. The Old Market location can't be beat. The interior is homy with dark wood panels contrasting with white walls and stained glass. Heck, half the space is a library. Every Sunday night, it's also home to some of the best live jazz you'll find in Omaha.

Enter though the Looking Glass and ask the gentleman at the counter for the Wicked Rabbit. The panel of alcohol will open up to a speakeasy bar. It's dimly lit, low key, classy, unpretentious, with a hint of swanky.

At Laka Lono, they treat rum like a nectar from the Gods and based on the fact that I have had every drink on the menu, I'm pretty sure it might be. The ambience is perfect and fun. The custom group drink bowls and stirrers and sea horse swing chairs and creatively named cocktails make you know how much the people who run this bar care. They love what they do want you to have a special and wonderful experience, and that's how going to a bar should be.

Any one that is interested in art should most definitely set aside time to visit the Joslyn Art Museum. A magnificent architectural structure in its own right...the Joslyn contains a truly outstanding collection of artworks and sculptures by some of the most famous artists...both classic and contemporary. Is it as large as the Louvre in Paris...no. As large as the National Gallery in London...no. But for its size, the Joslyn does indeed contain a wonderful cross-section of pieces that rivals other larger art museums that are located in larger metropolitan areas

A trip to the Durham is like taking a trip back in time to Omaha's past. For one, it's Omaha's historic union station. The the original benches and ticket booth, along with statures of travelers of days gone by, are on display as you walk in to the grand Art Deco hall. The rest of the building has be repurposed into a history museum celebrating all things Omaha. There are permanent exhibits of old train cars and streetcars which are fun to explore. Plus there're installations of notable shops, taverns and other pieces of the area's past.

Shopping

The old market is a must see when you are visiting Omaha. It is full of history, great dining, boutique shopping, and quaint stuff like antique stores metal art and fancy art galleries. It is full of old buildings, or old buildings that have been refinished. Many people live in the old market too in lofts that have been refurbished or newly built. It's an excellent place to walk around and explore and with so many options of businesses to visit there is pretty much something for everyone in the family. Whether you are antiquing, you want to check out a unique candy store, sit down for brunch, have a coffee,  check out the late-night scene with the bars and lounges, or have a classy dinner

Entertainment & Activities

You can't go wrong with a visit to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. Wear your most comfortable walking shoes!!! This zoo is vast with so many exhibits that it's almost impossible to see the whole thing in one day - well, not if you want to read about the exhibits and just watch the animals for awhile. You can walk, take the sky lift, tram or train.

This ballpark is impressive. The food is better than many Major League parks I've been to and the diamond vision is one of the best I've ever seen. Its the perfect venue for the College World Series! Even if you're just a casual baseball fan, you would enjoy this celebration of America's past time. This ballpark is the perfect place to hold this fabulous event.

Parks & Nature

This is an urban park in the heart of downtown. It has almost everything that's needed. Wide open spaces, water falls, gardens, the highest shooting fountain in North America, beautiful scenery and a walking path around the lake. Ducks and geese abound. There are plenty of spots for picnics. There are events held throughout the warmer months with some food fairs, concerts, etc. Gondola rides to the fountain and around the lake in the spring and summer. All year round people will jog or walk around the lake. It is especially nice when the fountain is flowing. At night the fountain is lit in changing colors
