Inexpensive Arabic cuisine. The chef Umar does amazing things with spices. Stay away from anything that looks like everyday non-Arabic food. Their best dishes are the things most non Arabs don't make. The oxtail, cow foot, lamb stews, etc all are excellent.

It's a Chinese take out that's Halal. Consider this a warning. It's open late and always busy, but not always good. The Tofu Beansprout and fried chicken is good but many of their offerings are what I call "shiny" Chinese. Food you'll never find in Asia. But if that's your sort of thing, you've got the munchies and it's late, who am I to judge?

It's owned by the best seafood market in NYC. Which means it's food is insanely good. But the real treat is its Oyster Happy Hour from 3-6pm. 1.00$ per Oyster may seem standard happy hour but instead of one or two varieties, they offer up to 20 as well as an assortment of clams too. From Atlantic to Pacific, no other place in the city has as fresh and as great a variety.

Sure, it's an expensive sandwich but nothing compares to Katz's Pastrami sandwich. A masterpiece of meat theater. If you must die from a heart attack, let this sandwich be your last bite. I used to dismiss them. Not anymore. Did they change? Did I change? Who knows but their Ban Mi is incredibly good. I recommend going with a friend. Let them order the Classic while you order the Short Rib Ban Mi. Take a half of each sandwich and let peace and satisfaction reign. Their Pho is tasty too but they do not serve it with tendon, a grave omission to some (like my wife), a welcome relief to others. If you don’t eat meat, their meat like substance Summer rolls are so good that I wonder if my canines are just a fashion choice. The bathroom’s hidden behind a secret shelf of condiments. It’s so discreet, it’s guaranteed to be free of odor or surprises. Just don’t tell anyone else. Did I mention you can eat for less than ten bucks?

Yes, this the theatre that begot "Hamilton" before heading off to Broadway. The Public Theatre is the breeding ground for new and innovative works, the quality of which rarely make it to Broadway. Did I say it's only a 10-15 min ride on the subway?
Best place to see a movie in NYC. Big seats. Reservations. No talking, text or phone calls during the film rules and decent food served by waiters on bended knee. The sound and projection is state of the art. You walk out of the theater in an existential daze pondering the mundanity of real life.

Marcelo the owner from Buenas Aires, Argentina hosts excellent tastings in the evenings. He’s also well stocked on an eclectic variety of wines and local liquors. What’s best, he’s around the corner.

The biggest and most comprehensive transportation hub in the City. We've got seven express trains plus four local as well as the Long Island Railroad. Nothing comes close. It's only three blocks away up 4th Avenue. It's also one stop to Manhattan. You'll never find yourself taking a crosstown train.

Friendly and helpful. If you want more out of biking in Brooklyn then Citi bike, renting from a bike shop is the way to go. Just remember to rent a decent lock.

This is the most awesome boat tour, especially around sunset. We're NY'ers who never to touristy things, but this is different. Decent price, not too short, not too long. The silence of the sails and the magnificent harbor views from the deck make it perfect.

It's ugly, designed by committee and not worthy of the sacrifice it was built upon. It's truly a monument of mediocrity. NYC deserves better. In short, I hate this building. It stands for nothing but square footage and efficiency. It's may be taller than the Twin Towers but manages to be the poster child for underwhelming. But the Oculus below ground is something.

The Best Bike Path in the City. Grab a Citibike and take the West Side Highway Bike path along the Hudson River for several miles. It's absolutely beautiful around sunset. Grab a drink in the Village and continue up the West Side. Chill on the Piers and then end your trip at the Lightship Frying Pan Tugboat for another drink and a bite.
