Natural Feature
“This large freshwater lake is a stones throw from the beach. It’s got loads of shady trees around it and it’s waters are stained dark red by the leaves of the trees surrounding it. There are no waves and a sandy gentle sloping entry making it great for little kids and big kids. It is popular for swimming, picnics, wind surfing, kayaking, SUP, or simply to freshen up after a beach swim/play. My kids love this beach!”

“1. Lennox Head Coastal Walk (15 min drive from Magnolia Studio) A fantastic scenic coastal walk culminating in stunning views from Lennox Point and the Pat Morton Lookout. You can begin at the end of Rutherford Street where there is a small carpark, beach access, picnic table and a set of children’s swings. Alternatively, you can join the track from a number of beach access points along the way. Simply follow the beachfront boardwalk which changes into a pathway at the end of Dress Circle Road all the way up to Lennox Point and the Pat Morton Lookout. Located on the top of Lennox Point – affectionately known as ‘The Point – the Pat Morton Lookout offers spectacular views of the coast as far north as Byron Bay. It is a prime whale-watching spot (during whale migration season from June to November) and it also a great place to watch the locals and the dolphins carve it up at its world-renowned right hand point break! This is also a popular hang gliding spot and when the weather conditions are spot on you’ll spot quite a number of them soaring through the skies. There is a further man-made walkway over to Boulders Beach and Sharpes Beach. The bush track follows the coastline offering sweeping views of our eastern coastline. It is peaceful and relaxing and can be done from either starting point - Pat Morton to Sharpes or vice versa. It’s also handy to know that there is a water fountain and single unisex toilet located near the carpark exit to the Pat Morton Lookout.”

Bar
“Upstairs at the pub, with an excellent view of the surf across the road. Hint: Get there late afternoon, so you can share in the fun of the kids catching waves while Mum and Dad 'supervise' from the grass above the beach. Food is very good, if a bit exy. However, views and great food are not cheap and these are second to none. Afterwards: Just wander downstairs and have a few drinks at the bar and enjoy the music.”

“The food is comparable to any Thai food you'd get in the capital cities, probably better. It's a Lennox/Alstonville institution. Andrew is a fantastic host and nothing is too much trouble. Well worth a visit.”
