“Temple Bar is a busy riverside neighbourhood, spread over cobbled pedestrian lanes. Crowded pubs host live folk music and DJ sets, and diners pack restaurants serving Asian, American and Irish cuisine. Quirky boutiques stock clothes and crafts by local designers. The National Photographic Archive highlights Ireland’s past, while the Project Arts Centre and Temple Bar Gallery + Studios shows contemporary art.”

“Beautiful Cathedral near the city centre. Jonathon Swift the writer of Gulliver’s Travels was Dean here. There is a beautiful park beside the Cathedral. Go for a stroll and admire the red brick buildings built by Lord Iveagh for his workers in the Guinness Factory.”

“Fishing port and yacht marina with a nearby Castle and wonderful walks around the headland. Great eateries from humble fish and chips to fine dining. Lots of pubs with good atmosphere. Try the Harbour Bar at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. Frequented mostly by locals and slightly off the usual tourist trail. Fantastic walks along the East pier out to the lighthouse with views to Ireland's Eye island. The West pier hosts a number of fish restaurants and some playful seals in the harbour. ”
