“This neighborhood is on the eastern edge of Downtown Los Angeles, California. The city community planning boundaries are Alameda Street on the west which blends into Little Tokyo, First Street on the north, the Los Angeles River to the east, and Violet Street on the south. Largely composed of industrial buildings dating from the early 20th century, the area has recently been revitalized, and its street scene slowly developed in the early the 21st century. New art galleries have increased recognition of the area amidst the entire downtown where other art museums are found.”

“Though this Spanish-inspired plaza has seen better days—blame it on a postmodern makeover and some unsavory fixtures—it remains Downtown’s central public space. The park hosts events throughout the year, including a Wednesday farmers’ market, summer concerts and a winter ice skating rink, but it’s worth a visit anytime for its views of the surrounding iconic 1920s- and ’30s-built edifices.”

“Sitting 34 feet above Hope Street, the park is a great viewing point for LA's famous landmarks – like the Los Angeles Central Library, the Hollywood Sign and even the San Gabriel Mountains on a clear day. Enjoy a stroll among colorful flowering trees, wonder at the wide variety of plants skirting their trunks, and take a moment to toss a coin into the pools of the Lillian Disney Memorial Fountain. This Royal Delft porcelain fountain, designed by Frank Gehry, is dedicated as "A Rose for Lilly" and is, fittingly, in the shape of a large blooming rose.”
