“King’s College Chapel is a masterpiece of English craftsmanship. It’s part of one of the oldest Cambridge colleges sharing a wonderful sense of history and tradition with the rest of the University. It was founded by Henry VI in 1441, and includes an elaborate fan-vault ceiling, magnificent stained-glass windows and Ruben's masterpiece, The Adoration of the Magi. Visit King’s College Chapel and you’ll also see an exhibition in the northern side chapels which shows why and how the chapel was built in pictures, works of art and models.”

“Having walked along the River Cam for a bit why not stop at the Orchard Tea Gardens for a relax, some lunch, or even a cream tea. Really lovely place especially on a dry sunny day when you can sit out on the deck chairs, taking in the atmosphere under the apple trees.”

“This is the most visited pub in the centre of Cambridge. It's also called DNA Historic pub. The historic pub where scientists first announced they had discovered the structure of DNA is set to be revamped. In February 1953, a jubilant Francis Crick walked into The Eagle in Cambridge and proclaimed he and James Watson had "found the secret of life". An opportunity to take a photo. The pub, which opened in the 17th Century and was originally called The Eagle and Child, was a regular haunt for RAF servicemen in World War Two. Their memories were left on one of the ceilings. It has also great food. ”

“Hot Numbers Coffee has 2 locations, both fabulous and as expected very busy. Another family owned and operated indy, the owner is an absolute stand-up gent - Simon is coffee roaster by day, DJ by night. Also an avid collector of vintage motorcycles and coffee machines which are now on display at his roastery in Stapleford Granary, CB22 5BP. Take a little bike ride out to Haslingfield and you can visit his wife Nilu's cafe - the Moringa Tree. Haslingfield is also an idyllic little english village much smaller than Cambridge with church grounds, and a gift shop. Well worth the visit!”

“2-star Michelin. Modern British. 2018 will be Midsummer House’s 20th anniversary and its history is fascinating. This Victorian villa is on Midsummer Common on the banks of the River Cam amongst a number of Cambridge University Colleges. The service matches the cooking, the wine list is majestic but the bill can be a little wince-worthy. Its style is theatrical and melding of utter technical brilliance with a wild imagination, this restaurant is among the most unforgettably good in Britain today, and it would be unpardonably vulgar to put a price on that. Simply our favourite place to eat in Cambridge for a special occasion - book well in advance!”
