This is a beautiful quiet custom built home. It is perfect for a visit to Avenue of the Giants. It is great for children as it is a wee farm with sheep wandering just off the orchard area. You are minutes from the freeway but cannot hear a car but on rare occasion. It is also romantic with its lovely Yotul gas fireplace surrounded by large windows looking out onto nothing but the green natural world.
Humboldt County is a diverse area offering many attractions. Most people arrive for the beauty of the natural setting however there is ample shopping in Victorian villages and many interesting museums and galleries. We are home to artists, actors and musicians in the area so concerts, galleries and theatre abound.

You will find yourself in some of the most pristine surroundings and are welcome to walk the five acres parcel .There is a sweet orchard for picnics and a nice outdoor barbecue area for sunny days and a carport for those grey days when you want to stay dry but enjoy a fire pit.
When the garden is ready I can offer you some organic salad makings and herbs to add to your home cooking on your four burner Wolf range.
Due to our four footed pets here and to assist those visitors with allergies we request no pets and no indoor smoking.
Good restaurants can be found in Ferndale, Fortuna, Eureka which are all 20 minutes away. Light fare such as cafês and sandwich shops are within 5 minutes drive i.e. the Scotia Inn has a full bar with light dining, Subway sandwich and Rio Dell Pizza Parlor are close as is the well know DJ's burger bar.
You will want to have a car for your convenience as we are situated 2 miles out of town up into the hills.
This cozy place was built by artist Jennifer Mackey and her husband for her cottage industry in apparel design years ago. It has a very artistic feel to it. Perfect place for a creative mind or outdoor enthusiast.

There is a baby grand piano for one and all to play. This is a perfect location for a musician or anyone in the arts.
You have a full acre wrapping your home which is situated on a larger 5 acre parcel that is secured by deer fencing. Sufficient parking for 2 passenger vehicles though not good for motor homes as the driveway is narrow.
There are several nearby gyms that have day passes available.

I am always available. If I am not in the neighborhood I can be reached by phone, text or email. I do try to give my visitors privacy as I know a vacation is usually for time away from the bustle of a work week.
I request a cleaning deposit that is fully refundable if you leave the apartment clean. This would include stripping the beds and placing used linens in hamper. It would also include cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, leaving them as you found them. We recycle and compost all non-animal products so there are areas for these things. There are cleaning supplies and a vacuum for your use.
Beds do not need to be remade nor do you need to do any washing of linens. Just vacuum, sweep, clean and smile.
Another request is that the noise level be reduced outside by 10 pm out of respect of the neighbors. Thank you

I love to travel and to enjoy other cultures. I respect other people's need for quiet and am also happy to have a good conversation over a cup of tea or glass of wine.
