Part of the BNB and sailing experience is to see what it's like to be a live aboard on the water without the direct access to water and electricity. Life aboard a vessel has a limited supply of water, battery power/ electricity and waste storage capacity. Over the years honoring these live aboard guidelines has helped reduce the utilities and water usage in our homes and has made us more conscious of the luxury of having these amenities at our disposal 24/7.
Please be respectful of the yacht and it’s owners. This is our home on the water. Any acts of disrespect will result in being asked to leave and you will forfeit the remainder of your money.
Safety and Liability:
The boat will remain anchored during your stay. The dinghy is only available to pick guests up at the dock upon arrival and return them upon departure. Water taxi’s must be used any other time.
No adult under 25 years of age. Any minor children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. No children under the age of 2 years old, unless prior approval from the owner to comply with Coast Guard regulations.
No additional guests may be brought to the boat. All children under 13 must wear a life vest while on deck for safety. All sizes for all ages are on the boat for your use.
Surfaces may be slippery when wet, especially the decks early in the morning. Safety precautions must constantly be observed. Please use handrails when walking along the decks or going from one level to another.
Please bring a pair of boat shoes / flip flops just for the boat/dinghy. These are to be worn while you are on the boat/dinghy and not taken off the boat and worn into town. This helps us to maintain the fiberglass on the boat.
On Deck: No glass on deck. There are plenty of plastic cups with lids available in the galley.
Any lounge chairs taken out must be put away under the bimini or inside to protect them from moisture.
The galley is available for use for coffee/tea and heating up light snacks. Propane is limited and heavy cooking is not allowed. The skipper will take care of all of the dirty dishes. Please do not rinse them – just leave them in the sink.
Please turn off all lights when not directly in use. Please do not touch any buttons you do not know what they do. Any questions how to do something – Ask the skipper.
Everyone must sit while using the bathroom, including men. Nothing goes in the toilet except for toilet paper. This includes tampons, pads, condoms, etc. There are trash bags in each bathroom – Please be careful how much toilet paper you flush – the system is delicate and can only handle small amount of toilet paper. To help keep the system running properly, please use the trash bag for toilet paper used for # 1, and flush any soiled toilet paper. When in doubt, throw it out. Be careful with any hair and place it in the trash bag, not the sink, toilet or shower. No urinating in the shower – this will cause the water system to alarm. We ask that you take a “sailors” shower. A “sailors” shower is, turn on the water and wet yourself down then turn the water off. Wash your hair and body and then turn the water on to rinse. NO daydreaming and lounging with water on. To brush your teeth - Wet your toothbrush, turn the water off, brush your teeth, turn the water on and quick rinse of brush and mouth to rinse. Remember there are pipes that can back up just like at home and should they get damaged you will be held responsible.
Hatches & Windows:
When leaving the boat – close all hatches and windows in all cabins, bathrooms and common areas including the cockpit spring windows. If you see rain coming or it starts to rain, please close everything. On nights when there it a lot of dew or humidity – if you want your hatches open, please only about 20 degrees. This will keep the moisture out of the boat.
Swim at your own risk. There are flotation devices available.
Extreme care should be exercised when boarding and leaving the vessel. No smoking or horseplay while on the boat. The owners of Guinevere V and our insurance are not responsible for any injury due to your own negligence. We are not responsible for any injury or death suffered by any guest or any other person while boarding, disembarking or staying on the boat.
Valuables: Guests are solely responsible for their own valuables and safekeeping of their property. The owners of Guinevere V are not responsible for any loss of any property of any person.
All restricted areas of the ship are clearly marked, or will be secured close. These areas are restricted to prevent guests from causing any damage to the boat. If guests enter any restricted area resulting in damage it will be an immediate $1500.00 charge in addition to the costs of any repairs.
There are no illegal substances allowed on the vessel. If any are brought onboard, your stay will end immediately and you will be charged the full amount of your stay.
