Homemade holidays. 2 unique yurts on a family permaculture smallholding.

Next to ancient woodland, close to many beaches of Lyme Bay and surrounded by beautiful Devon countryside.

Exclusive use of an indoor kitchen, hut, shower, compost loo and campfire area.

Homegrown produce available during your stay plus forest school activities, games, maps and books to use.
Wild swimming in our natural swimming pond and use of our 26 acre rewilding woodland a 30 minute hike away. Relax and reconnect.

Eignin
Buzzard Yurt has a king size bed, bunk beds, clothes storage and basic gas cooker for making hot drinks. It is carpeted and has a woodburner.

Its wooden terrace is perfect for watching the sunrise and moonrise and all the wild birds and animals that live at Holyford.

By the yurt there is a campfire circle, earth oven and picnic table. 50m away a compost toilet (loo with a view!) and handwashing sink.

200m down the path through the wildflower area there is Buzzard kitchen and hut. The hut is a small extra living space with sofa, books, games and maps. There are basic craft materials available for drawing postcards and making natural crafts.

Behind the hut is Buzzard shower with hot water from our biomass boiler and solar systems.

Buzzard kitchen has a 4 ring gas cooker and oven, a fridge and a sink. There is a small table with 4 chairs (we can provide an extra chair if needed)

There is often seasonal surplus homegrown produce available from our smallholding.

A field away from us is Holyford woods an ancient woodland nature reserve

Wood for the woodburners is from our sustainably managed local woodland.

Guests are also welcome to use our private 25 acre re-wilding woodland a beautiful 30 minute hike away. Its great for building dens and exploring nature.

There is the breathtaking Jurassic coast very close, with all its varied beaches. Wonderful to explore, by foot, by bus or by paddle!

Aðgengi gesta
Holyford is about a mile down a single track (dead end) lane with passing places. Our drive is well off the lane and there is a space in front of our garage for car parking. If you need an extra car parking space please let us know.

Annað til að hafa í huga
Our wild swimming pond has fencing and gates to ensure that children do not reach the deep water without an adult with them. Please ensure you close any gates behind you to ensure safety of all children on site.
Holyford is a wonderful place to explore, but as with any smallholding there are areas that carry risk. We are happy for you to explore and enjoy the smallholding, but please ensure children have adequate supervision and do not climb on wood piles or enter areas marked private (eg tool shed)

We have trampolines, swings a slide and ropes courses that we are happy for children to enjoy but ask you to sign a disclaimer when you arrive and to follow safety guidelines.

Holyford smallholding is down a small 'no through access' Lane and surrounded by fields. Walk out of our field straight onto a network of footpaths that link in with the East Devon way and then the South west coast path. Holyford woods nature reserve is only a field away, ancient woodland famous locally for its bluebells. You can also walk to the sea at Seaton- a 20/30 minute walk where you can then access the Jurassic coastline on foot, by bus or even take the electric tram! Seaton wetlands is nearby a wonderful nature reserve to visit. The coastal villages of Beer and Branscombe are close as is the donkey sanctuary and the towns of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis.
