The house, built in the 1850's, was one of the last of the mansions built during that period in Providence's Historic East Side. What sets this apart from similar properties from that era is that it has a sister mansion, built at the same time as they were originally built by a father for his two daughters. Amazingly, as the land changed hands over the years, no fences or walls were erected and few trees were lost, leaving the front and back grounds fully conneted. The carriage house, which was once part of the property is now owned by a renowned glass artist, who happens to also be an expert gardener.

In addition to the apartment, guests will have access to the basement where the laundry is located.

If you would like to be met on the premises upon arrival please let us know! Otherwise, for your convenience and privacy, there will be a lock box with a unique access code in which your keys will be waiting.
I live in a separate unit in the building. At times I travel for work, but if it is preferable someone will be available to get you settled.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions before, during or even after your stay, and I will get back to you promptly!

We have just a few basic rules/requests for the apartment:
The house was built in the 1850's and has very old drain pipes, which are sensitive. Please DO NOT dispose of feminine hygiene products, paper towels etc. in the toilet!!
IF you experience a clogged drain, DO NOT use Draino or any other drain cleaning product as these may dissolve the old pipes. Simply contact me and I will be very happy to fix any such problem right away!
Empty trash daily (small bins for garbage and recycling are located under the sink). Trash goes in the large dumpster in the parking lot, recycle does in the recycle bin next to the dumpster. The bins across the driveway from your apartment belong to the owners of the carriage house across from your new home :)
PLEASE RESPECT OUR NEIGHBORS!
There are seven other units in the building, so please try to be respectful with noise levels, especially later at night. That said, the house is well insulated and you don't need to "be quiet" we just ask that you don't make excessive noise :)
The smaller carriage house and yard across the brick driveway from your apartment belongs to a separate owner. If you'd like to admire their house/gardens, please do so from the driveway so as not to trespass! If you are lucky enough to meet the owners, Tootz and Ernesto, you can certainly ask their permission to take a closer look!
The property on the other side of the building is also owned by another family. They have a beautiful garden and a gorgeous house, but please respectfully admire it from our portion of the property, unless invited for a closer look by our neighbor, Bryan or his wife.
NO SMOKING INSIDE
You are welcome to smoke on the property, but not in the apartment under any circumstances. If you do smoke, please dispose of butts in the garbage or we can provide you with a receptacle outside upon request.
If you experience any trouble with the internet, please contact me to fix it as the modem and router are located outside of your apartment...
