Fox's Den is a sympathetically restored 19th century traditional Irish stone cottage where peace and privacy are guaranteed. Nestled on a hillside over looking Croghan Mountain - a short distance from Aughrim Village in "The Garden of Ireland"

Inside this charming home you'll find two cosy bedrooms with double beds, but the heart of the cottage is definitely in the living area, it's stonewash white walls, granite fireplace and wood burning stove make it the ideal place to switch off and relax.

Eignin
Set off a private country lane close to Augrim village Fox's Den is over 200 years old. The cottage still maintains its pastoral heritage thanks to a recent restoration undertaken by it's owners.

This ground up restoration has used local materials where possible such as the roof beams which are Japanese red larch sourced from a forest near-by.
The fireplace and hearth have been painstakingly built by the current owner to using stone from the local quarry, which is complimented with a wood-burning stove to keep you warm as you settle in on those chilly evenings.

The two charming and cosy bedrooms at Fox's Den have been generously furnished with fresh white linen on the beds and decorated with little details befitting the cottage and its era such as floral pillows, Irish lace and snug quilts. As the day draws to a close you can shut the curtains, turn on the fairy lights and light some candles to unwind and recharge your batteries.

Should you wish to cook we have a fully equipped kitchen complete with all modern appliances, there is seating for 4 guests around the farmhouse table.

You will find a brand new Shower-room, all linen and towels included. Laundry and ironing facilities adjacent the bathroom for your convenience.

Breathtaking ever-changing views of the magnificent Croghan, a mountain which is over 2000ft in elevation are taken in from the cottage's front garden. Which is beautifully planted with flowers in bloom during the summer months, you can enjoy these views from the comfort of the 2 seater bench.
We love our animals here and are proud to have a herd of rescue goats that just love attention, a chicken coop that provides the freshest of eggs for your breakfast, and our Horse ''OPEL'' and Donkey ''JACK'', who are all close by.

Included in your rental is a carefully chosen Irish Breakfast pack all sourced locally.

Staðsetning

Aughrim, Wicklow-sýsla, Írland

Fox's Den is located in Threewells Aughrim which is a small Village in County Wicklow, Ireland, just 80 minutes away from the centre of Dublin and Rosslare Europort.
Aughrim lies in a scenic valley in the ancient east of Ireland where the Ow and Derry rivers meet to form the Aughrim river.

Aughrim proudly won the Irish Tidy Towns Competition in 2007.

There are a number of unusual granite terraced houses throughout the village, constructed - along with a forge. Aughrim was a granite mining village, and this material is widely used, giving the village a distinctive and coherent architecture.

Aughrim has become a popular venue for walkers thanks to the abundance of picturesque scenery. The Sean Linehan Way starts by Tinakilly Bridge on the east side of the village, while just to the west is the Ciaran Shannon Way. The two walks offer a mix of woodland and riverside, with rich bird and wild-life along well-maintained forestry trails and walkways.

Located a 10 minute drive away is the famed Brooklodge and Maccreddin Village which boasts a luxury spa and many fine dining options including the renowned StrawberryTree restaurant which is the only certified organic restaurant in Ireland. Located on site at Brooklodge is the award winning Paul McGinley designed golf course.
