In a word...fabulous! We stayed three nights at Marcello's villa and it was amazing! The villa was built in the 1800's and has undergone a transformation. It is located in a quiet residential/wine growing area, so no traffic noise. The room we stayed in was on the third floor (6 flights of stairs, 44 steps), it was really spacious and you could open the windows which overlook the new wine bar and pool area. The bedroom has heating and a fan for warm nights. The bathroom is also large with beautiful fixtures. This is a B&B so every day the room is cleaned which is lovely. There is a kitchen area if you want to prepare your own meals. After we arrived we decided to go to the wine bar for a cold drink and some lunch, we had a platter of local meats, cheeses and dips, excellent value as we had enough left over for lunch the following day. A light breakfast was provided each morning in the main dining room. The pool is fabulous, although too cold to swim when we were there. We also took advantage of having our laundry done, which was really inexpensive and came back beautifully folded in a box left in our room. There is ample on site parking. The attention to detail is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. We drove into Verona which is about 20 mins by car and it was more beautiful than we expected. Georgia gave us information on where to park in Verona that was within walking distance to the centre of the city. We both agreed, the Villa would be the perfect place to stay for a week or more in the hot months to take advantage of the pool and the warm evenings sitting at the wine bar. We would highly recommend a stay at Marcello's place.
