Our property is a sprawling 5,500 sq. ft. adobe home in the Corrales bosque; a fertile area near the Rio Grande. There is a front courtyard shared entrance to the oldest wing of the building, dating to the late 1800s. The comfortable guest bedroom features a queen bed, HDTV, stereo, coffee service and mini-fridge. Private bathroom is steps away. The rate of $49 includes all state and local taxes.
The guest bedroom is part of the original property, built as an adobe sod with 18-inch walls. Previously known as the Serenity Gardens Spa, it's a quiet, peaceful space with plenty of parking with a labyrinth in the backyard for quiet contemplation. The village of Corrales features four award-winning wineries within 4 miles of our property and excellent restaurants. The building is less than 5 miles from the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Park and offers an easy commute even on the busiest of balloon event days. From our courtyard you can often see, and sometimes converse with, balloon pilots who waft over the Corrales area and often land nearby.
Access to the guest bedroom is through the front courtyard. The turquoise door to the left is the shared entrance. It is shared with a second Airbnb listing of a kitchenette suite (Old Corrales Suite). Weather permitting guests can dine outside in the courtyard at a bistro table. The rear courtyard is used for larger parties which we can host. Contact us if you'd like to use the space for a party or special event.

- We love having Airbnb guests, but we need guests' cooperation in order to ensure a smooth check in. We offer check in between 3 and 9PM, but we need to have a range of time during which you will check in (2-hour window requested). Please do not assume that we will be available at any time during that full six hour period and please give us as much advance notice as possible if your plans change so that we can greet you upon your arrival. Also, arrangements for late arrivals must be made in advance.
We must be involved in any event or party. We are experienced event planners and I can serve as an advisor, sommelier or server.
- There are outside smoking areas in the front and rear courtyards for smokers.
I'm a teacher and writer of computer science and wine. I also write novels and screenplays. As a level one sommelier I do wine presentations, wine dinners and lead wine tours of New Mexico. I also wrote The Wines of Enchantment, which covers wine basics and the wines and wineries of New Mexico, the oldest wine region in the US.
As an Airbnb host I love to share our sprawling adobe-style home with travellers. I offer wine tours and recommend restaurants, sightseeing tours and can organize visits to all our award-winning wineries. As an avid cyclist I can also organize and lead bicycle tours of New Mexico. An optional full-course breakfast as available and gourmet coffee is always included.
