Það sem verður gert

First, we'll visit a little hidden pilgrimage made by locals which is near the station in a old style neighborhood. Then we'll go trough a beautiful Japanese public garden and traditional houses. We'll visit the temple called Mii Dera which is very famous for its bell, cherry trees and its view of Biwako. Then, let's ride in a local train toward sakamoto, where we'll eat the best soba noodle of all Shiga in a 300 years old restaurant. Right after, we'll visit and have a relaxing time in the amazing moss garden of Chikurin-in, an old noble villa and finally we'll finish our trip by visiting one of the oldest shrine in Japan (2100years) Hiyoshi shrine.

Hello, I am Sebastien from France. I am a licenced guide who’s been living in Otsu since 2012. It became my home, my second country. I love traveling, dicovering new hidden places, temples, shrines and meeting locals.
I love traditional traditional japanese culture too especially Bouddhism, shintoism, arts, cooking and hot spring.
Moreover, I am a japanese bamboo flute teacher from a zen temple called Myoan ji.

Otsu was the perfect getaway from the Golden Week crowds in Kyoto. We had a very pleasant walk exploring secret shrines and my son loved that along the walk we had bumped into Sebastien's daughter's Kindy mate and the sweet little boy immediately invited my 11 year old into his home...really heartwarming. We didn't know what exactly to expect when we sign up for this tour but Sebastien was nice and it is indeed a very pleasant memory. Thanks Sebastien.
