Welcome to the Coloma Gold Discovery tour where I will take you on a journey through the fantastic history of the Gold Rush where we learn about mining, the frontier, and the not so romantic side of the Gold Rush history.
This tour is unique due to not only the history of the Coloma but has also been a resident here for over 30 years Where I can provide guests with local insights of the land, in-depth knowledge of mining techniques, living conditions, and culture. This tour also provides a mature knowledge of Native American life stretching back thousands of years, along with a strong connection of nature and its ecological properties.

the tour includes:
Tour and information of the Valley floor including
-Native American museum walkthrough and demonstrations much of the historical sites

-blacksmith shop visita where we see real blacksmiths (not actors) forging steel
-walk through of old mining equipment such as hydraulic, placer and hard rock mining techniques
-two tours available (one after another) feel free to come on one, both, or none of the hikes, they are included in the cost.(no partial refunds allowed)

Set in the heart of Coloma, all outdoors with over 20 original buildings (i.e museum, sawmill, school house, Native American bark dwellings; even the cabin James Marshal built and lived in for over 30 years!)

1200 break for lunch (packed by guest or purchased at local cafe)
1230pm marshal monument hike and hear the story of Marshals life
